Delhi University

it currently offers two main pathways for law aspirants:
  • 5-Year Integrated Programs (for students right out of 12th grade) and the traditional
  • 3-Year LL.B. Program (for graduates).

1. 5-Year Integrated Programs (B.A. LL.B. Hons. & B.B.A. LL.B. Hons.)

  • Entrance Examination: DU does not conduct its own entrance exam for this course, nor does it use CUET. Admission is based strictly on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT UG) rank.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class XII (10+2 system) or its equivalent from a single recognized board.
  • Students currently appearing for their Class 12 exams are also eligible to apply.
  • Minimum Marks Required (Class 12): * Unreserved (UR) / EWS / OBC-NCL: Minimum of 45% aggregate. ○ SC / ST / PwBD: Minimum of 40% aggregate.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying.
  • Total Seats: 120 seats in total.
    • B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): 60 Seats (UR: 24, OBC-NCL: 16, SC: 9, ST: 5, EWS: 6)
    • B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): 60 Seats (UR: 24, OBC-NCL: 16, SC: 9, ST: 5, EWS: 6)
  • Admission Process:
    1. Appear for the CLAT UG examination.
    2. Register separately on DU’s dedicated 5-year law admission portal using the CLAT score.
    3. Seats are allocated based solely on the CLAT All India Rank (AIR) and the preference filled between BA LLB and BBA LLB.
    4. Pay the admission confirmation fee once the seat is allocated.

2. Traditional 3-Year LL.B. Program

  • Entrance Examination: Admission is based on the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduates (CUET PG) conducted by the NTA. DU no longer conducts the older DU LLB entrance exam.
  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks Required (Graduation): Generally, 50% aggregate for the Unreserved/General category, with standard relaxations for OBC/SC/ST/PwBD categories.
  • Seats: The 3-year program has a massive intake, historically offering over 2,800 to 3,000+ seats combined across its three centers.
  • Admission Process:
    1. Qualify the CUET (PG) examination.
    2. Register on DU’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS PG) portal.
    3. Counseling and seat allocation are done based on CUET PG scores.
